Dr. Atijah Collins brings a warm, patient-first approach to oral surgery, backed by a deep commitment to clinical excellence. Raised in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Dr. Collins began his academic journey at Mercer University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He then completed a master’s in biomedical sciences at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating at the top of his class and receiving the Dean’s Award for academic excellence.
Driven by a passion for surgery and patient care, Dr. Collins went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. There, he received the Dental Student Award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, recognizing his performance and dedication to the field.
Dr. Collins completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma hospital in Los Angeles. His training included advanced experience in complex tooth extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafting, pathology, medically complex cases, and facial trauma and reconstruction. During his final year, he served as Chief Resident and was elected as a delegate for the Committee of Interns and Residents.
Today, Dr. Collins is a board-certified oral surgeon with a genuine enthusiasm for his field. He remains active in surgical education and has presented at leading industry conferences, including the Hinman Dental Meeting. He is a proud member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and the Georgia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
